Chalice placement question

Does anyone have their chalices NOT on the sand bed? Can you move them up slowly like most other LPS or will they always need lower light? My sandbed is getting full.

I have some up in my rockwork they do fine there as well

I didn't but I never do with any corals. IMO you only need to do it with 400w MH

i have my chalices on a frag rack next to my acros . they are about 8-10 inches from the bulbs.i run 6-overdriven t5 . they all look great.

You've seen mine at various levels on the rockwork.... you get different colors from the same colony depending on light levels. I wouldnt personally go over 150 watt mh though or you might burn some. I have a friend on here that lost his from a 400 watt mh being too intense. Hope this helps.

Hey Brian, I still look at that little guys skeleton sitting there. The tank is doing well now, it has come around and is starting to grow again, however slowly from what I'm used to with 10k's.

I saw your other selling thread with the Chalices, Good Luck and I'll give you a call this week.
