chalice questions

Just curious what success people have had with chalices and what they have done to get that success

also what is the best place to put a chalice? do they grow best on the sand?

I've got mine on a flat rock about 2-3 inches above the sand bed, and feed about once to twice a week with Fauna Marin Ultra LPS Grow (filters off, target feed the eyes through a plastic straw about 1-2 pellets each). I also drop in a small amount of Ova once a week into the tank and have noticed pretty good growth with this method.

Lighting is hit or miss depending on the type of chalice but none seem to tolerate like strong flow. I have had some that did "ok" lower in the tank but once they are moved up or out of the shade they did a lot better. Likewise, I have some that do best in the lowest lighting I can give them. Mine also stay puffy when I feed them mysis at least once a week but that is not required.

i have some in the shade and some right in the light, all doign well. you will have to play aroudn to see what kind likes what. there all different.
