Chalices in ULNS

I have been dosing vodka/mb7 in my sps dominant tank for a few months now and have finally reached ULNS. I've heard chalices and some sps don't do well in very clean water.

Are there any ways to successfully keep LPS, specifically chalices, in a ULNS or do I have to start another tank?

some have issues with bleaching, but if you've reached your target parameter and the corals look fine, then you've been successful. If they start to bleach or look stressed, try feeding more and keep you alkalinity in the 7-8 range. FWIW, I used to run a Zeo system and still dose vodka and have numerous chalices and lps that have had no problems whatsoever. In fact, I grew a watermelon chalice from a quarter sized frag to dinner plate size in 2.5 years under ULNS conditions.

I'm doing the same thing. With vodka dosing, you should be able to feed in mass quantities. I have heard of someone with a denitrifier that stopped using it because his water was too clean and it was hurting his LPS. Good luck!
