Chalices

I have some chalices that are at the edge of thier frag plugs. Will they grow out over the sand, or do they need a more substantial structure under them?

They will be ok and grow like UFOs.

No, if they touch the sand they will die, Luckily I know what needs to be done. The only way you can save them from certain death is to frag it into several peices and distribute to loyal club members like myself:wavehand:

As long as the edges don't get buried under the sand they will be fine. But if they do they will loose their edge instantly.

How about spacing, are there any chalice species that don't sting each other? My miami hurricane is only about and 1 1/2" across but the sweepers are easily 2" and I'm afraid to put anything near it. Would I be ok putting any other chalices nect to it?

I have mine close together. I didn't think things within the same species stung each other, but maybe I'm just thinking of hammer/frogspawn.

The pieces are far too small too frag.

I know I have seen some species of chalice growing into each other like blobs of gum that got mushed together, but is this true for all chalices?
