i wish....just one that i bought browned out and has turned out to be a nice looking chalice the base seems to be turning blue

Picked up some huge chalices today. I think a couple have potential.

They're pretty beat up and can't wait till they color up properly.

Man your sand bed is super clean!!

LOL, thanks. Yeah, it's like a mission. Got to love a clean sand bed. :)

Those look choice Megabite. Did you find them locally or online?

I really can't wait to see how they color up. I got them locally. I think that the 2 middle ones have the most potential. The second one from the right looks to have bright yellow eyes and a bluish body.

Nice pics Megabite! Very clear :)

Here's my new pick up for the weekend, had to overexpose the shot to get the two colors, very hard to shoot. Powder purple with maroon eyes, pretty neat piece though :)

Has anyone ever seen one of these chalices? I got it at a LFS. Anyone know the real name for it?

Several hobbyists and a plethora of online shops, LFS each have their own name for that morph. Depends on the source. I think the orenjii was the first to get circulated though, and still has a collectible price tag so you'd likely know if you had that one. The Krugerand also came in around the same time or shortly thereafter.

I looked those names up, but the ones on the online sites don't look the same. The ones online eyes look the same as the body. Mine has neon orange eyes, with a different looking body.

I think its funny people want to know the "real name" of a CORAL that came from the friggin OCEAN.... its a chalice, that is the real name, or echinophylia, oxypora, mycedium, etc... yes my spelling sucks, but just because some yahoo or even Pro hobbyist or store named it its worth more.... LAME! how about its worth more because its got friggin rad awesome colors??? and if mine form the ocean has the same rad awesome colors, then they are both worth the same regardless of whether yours was in some famous guys tank or not....

ok sorry, rant over. My chalices rock, and I could care less what the names are, half the time I make them up.
