the ebay price thing is crazy. makes me think about all the hyping of these so called one of a kinds in this thread. These are some nice pieces but arent they from nature and each thing in nature is truely different/unique (with 20k for sure).

This used to be one of my favorite threads because of the great pics. Get enough drama in my daily life and work. Seems to me that the threads get used for all kinds of purposes, including driving up prices on auctions. Just want to see pics of great chalices, like these or not! :bum:

Just want to say Good Bye to some of the nice people I have met on here over the years and became friends with Alicia, Kigs, Larry (zeppelin) Roblack, Ryan, Issac, Sara B, Beaker Bob, Nino78 (Matt) and I'm sure I'm missing others but, this whole online thing and all this drama has really made me take a step back and look at things differently, it's to the point of where it's no fun anymore. There's too much back stabbing and too many people dragging names through the mud and they know who they are. So I'm gonna just enjoy the hobby without all the added bull crap, and keep the online stuff out of it for a while...Peace

I appreciate it guys, and your right but I seriously need to re-evaluate exactly what it is that brought me her in the first place and that's my love for the hobby. I know I shouldn't let drama get to me but it's getting too the point where I'm not making friends anymore but enemies...I'll just chill in the wings for a while and look at everybody's else's eye candy for a while

No seriously though, we have seen all of this on my local board with the new Purple Hornets craze. It gets out of hand sometimes, but all in all, people are going to sell as they please, thats why we live in this great country. Capitalism is a great thing, and if it werent, everyone would be in the dumpster!

Hey Kev, you have been great for this thread in so many ways, have shared good info and sweet pics of rare and beautiful corals, and it would be a shame if you stopped doing that. I like the Margarita idea. What would Jerry do?
Bkelley, not sure why that chalice looks all of a sudden so differently, think it is just the color pattern on it and not related to light. So many crazy chalices coming in and that are crawling out of the woodwork that have somehow been here for a while without everyone finding out. Collect em all, yeah right!

It's 2 chalices that grew together and continue to do so today.

+2...can you take a top down pic of that dual colored chalice and tell us about how it came to be that way. Pretty cool. It reminds me a bit of the TOTM this month...the multi colored cap all grown up.
reeferpnoy, nice pic of the Aquascene Golden Eye...I hardly ever see that one posted. I have had it for a long time...it got stung by an acan echinata last year and went from a 4" diameter colony to a frag about the size of yours in a few hours . OUCH, that one hurt. I nursed it back to health and it is happy once again and growing well.

Kev, I don't know about the drama...I try to just stay out of stuff the best I can and enjoy what I like for the sake of what I like. When I see a chalice, or any coral for that matter, that I want because it strikes me, I try and track it down or buy/trade for a frag. That's it...everyone has their own desire, likes, etc. People will always try and capitalize on the latest and greatest...in every market. If I like it I pay...no bartering, no drama. End of story. I just let the folks who want to complain go ahead and complain and not worry about it. I have paid high prices for many of my corals with no questions asked, that is my choice. Other folks barter and try to get deals, that is their choice. Whatever you decide to do with a coral is your choice, end of story. I figure if the price is to high for somethign I move on, no need to hate on someone. Good old capitalism, as remarked earlier. I have always enjoyed your threads, posts, and friendship over the net. Take a step back if you need...then get back on this thread ASAP .

I have to keep this all in mind when I take my car into the mechanic...just because of the make and model of my car I pay way more than I do for our other piece of crap car that gets great gas mileage...just the way it goes. You pay for the name and quality sometimes.
