Changing out LED driver from non dimmable to dimmable

I opened up my panorama 36 retro led balast and the only think inside the big chunky black box was a Meanwell PLN-60-27. So I assume that I can make this light dimmable by swapping out the driver with a a 27D. Can anyone confirm? I don't want to order a dimmable balast from ecoxotic for $80 if all it needs is a new driver for $32.

Yes you can simply change it for any one of the dimmable drivers that meets the specs of that one.. They don't make the PLN in a dimmable version but you could use the ELN or LPF or other series..
Do you have a controller with pwm or analog dimming signal?

I'll be using a ReefKeeper or Apex system

So if you do go with an "older" style like the ELN series make sure its dimming requirements match your controller..
Or just go with a "newer" style that has the "3 in 1" dimming vs just PWM or just analog.
