changing substrate from sand to aragonite?

Hey guys, im getting tired of my sand being blown all over the place by my mp10 and im thinking of changing to a thicker substrate. However im unsure how to and if it will cause any issues like spikes or something. How can I go about this. Do I just siphon and add new or do something. Also how much at a time. Also please recommend aragonite to use. Please advice. Thanks guys

hey i live in miami also,i would siphon it out with waterchange little by little...you may like barebottom or go with bigger grain size,i just did mine i used ''5mm corapet''i got it @ 'tophat aquarium' for $1 per pound its working out good for my 36''tank with 2xmp10 hope this helps.

Yea thats what I kinda figured. That take a bit at a time would be the best way. I will swing by today and pick some up. Ty so much for the quick response.
