Changing T-5 Bulbs

I purchased new T-5 bulbs to replace the original bulbs that came with my Nova Extreme. Should I change them all at once or 2 at a time so not to shock the coral?? I mostly have softies but do have some LPS and a few SPS. Looking for some advice. Thanks

If it was me I would change them all at once, but I tend to bend the rules. If you are concerned, just monitor the corals for awile. I see no harm in changing two at a time though. I probably left you cunfused, if so I am sorry.

if your worried about freaking out the livestock just throw a piece of egg crate over the tank to diffuse the light a bit for a week or so... just my 2pennies

i just replaced my bulbs i have 7 and did it all at once. but i was told to cut back the run time and go up in increments.

Through alot of research both here and on other sites I went with 2 x 39W 12000K Aquablue Special T5 HO by ATI and 2 x 39W Blue Plus T5 HO by ATI.

ATI's are great! I have two Blue +, SPS blue life 20,000k, uv 75.25 and 6,700

I've used Aqua sun's, Geissman Aquablue's and SPS blue life 15,000k.

I think your combo should have great par, and really blue look. "IF" you should want a less blue color after install I'd go with a GE 6k or SPS 15,000K (I really like the white color of this one). If you want a more purple look go with a 75.25 or actinic white. Just some food for thought.

Hey guys thanks for all the info! I sill haven't changed the bulbs yet. Been working late. I'll take some pics of the final product.

Ok. I had a chance to change the bulbs out tonight. WOW! Should have done this long ago! The color is amazing. If anybody is interested I will try to take some pictures. (Try is the operative word there, not very good with the camera) I'm very pleased with the results.
