Changing Tank size

Hello everyone,

I have a 10 gallon tank that has been running for a year and I am going to a 46 gallon tank.
How is the best way to do this?
All new water?
Use my 10 gallon water also?
I have 2 pajamas, 2 anemones and some mushrooms.

Set up the new tank with whatever sand and rock and water you are going to add. Then transfer the live rock from your 10g tank and then the critters and then (if you need to) the water. The water is far less important than the live rock.

After you are done, be prepared to go through the nitrogen cycle again and maybe some algae and bacteria blooms as well. These happen to most new tanks whether you are going up size or downsize.

I went from a 400g system (2 tanks and a huge sump) to a 200g system (125g tank, 50g display refugium & 40g sump). I used all live rock and used sand and I never got any ammonia, but I did get a rapid rise in nitrates. So it cycled in a day or two. But then I got a diatom bloom and even a hairy algae bloom.

When I changed tanks, I transferred all my live rocks & water. topped off the water difference, test water parameters next day. Had a light cycle, all fish, shrimps & crabs okay. Did a water change following week

I agree with the comments mention ^^^. I just want to add, make sure you have some Prime or Amquel on-hand for ammonia. Be prepared to do water changes when necessary. To get a head start you can get some more dry rock and start cycling that rock for the new tank. I imagine you will need more live rock anyway coming from a 10 gallon to a 46 gallon.
