Charger/Inverter

What are some good suggestions for Chargers/inverters that can be hooked up to deep marine batteries

My local lowes has a pure sine wave on clearance but its inverter only and the charge controller is solar. I already have solar hooked to the grid so looking for a something that will hook to a AC 120V source

Last week I bought Cyber Power battery back up 1000VA/530watts at Frys. Bought it cuz of the crazy weather last week and I live in a townhouse so generator isn't quite ideal. generator . Hooked it up and it lasted 90 minutes w just my pump going. Not bad, but definitely glad I have it for extreme cases. What's cool about it is if the power goes out it trips the battery immediately for instant back up (if you want it set up that way). Hope this helps.

@Malate: I will install something that is instant switch to backup and revert back once power is restored, generators dont achieve that (not the affordable ones anyway, and the tank is too small to invest in a larger generator)

@doughboy: thats a great idea.. I will stop by and check if there is a power source also available.

solar controller is perfect for auto switch over.
The only thing is you need an input higher than the battery voltage.
Say 12v requires 15v, 24v requires 30v.
If your inverter use 12v, look for a 15v dc switching power supply with the appropriate amps. Then check if your load can handle 15v, if not, you need to add a regulator to drop the voltage. I believe battery stops charging at 13.6v, so the load (inverter) must be able to handle at least 13.6, so maybe can handle 15v.

If I understand correctly, the hooked to grid Solar is setup to shutdown (disconnect at the inverter) if the PGE grid is offline; is it possible to install a bypass (I will also ask this to my solar company)
