Anybody know this fella????

I had sent him a money order.. which I know was delivered(delivery confirmation)... He states he shipped out my stuff (RO/DI and test kits) last week Sat. Sept 23... I asked for a tracking number / shipping method on Sept 23rd... I have not heard from him or seen the items I paid for yet... so it has been a good 10days to go from OH to AL...

If anybody knows this guy... tell him I am looking for him... If I need to ... I will file a claim with the US Postal Service... because at this point from where I am sitting it looks like mail fraud...

In defense, I've had issues with USPS and unless you pay an extra couple bucks for delivery confirmation you don't get a tracking number from them. I've met Charles and he doesn't seem like the guy who would intentionally hose anyone. No response is a bad sign but could also mean that he doen't have internet access. I'd give it a few more days and see before having too big a knee jerk reaction. I'll try to give him a call and see what's up. (Please don't ask me for his phone number because I will have to refuse, I don't know you from Adam and won't go there).

I appreciate any assistance that you can provide. I would like to say that Reef Central provides PM tracking and I know that he was logged in on 9/30.. I had previously to that date made at least 3 requests via PM and email... so the idea of not having internet access does not fly here...

I understand the issues with USPS.. but I used to sell on eBay and sold over 1,000 items all shipped via USPS.. I only ever had one item lost (but USPS alerted me that the damaged bix was located)..... everything with shipped with insurance/delivery confirmation.. well worth the $2-$4 more.. provides you and the buyer a little peace of mind... have proof of shipping...

Silence makes people look very guilty.. just how it is.. you can read all over how people have been scammed.. I was not too excited to pay him with a money order.. but he appeared to be a longtime member and figured all would be OK... but now I am feeling a little different due to lack of product / contact with seller....

Cool, I was just making generalities and didn't know you wer digging.

I hope all works out for both but I'm also a skeptical guy and been railroaded, sold crap, and plain ripped off. It's true that you have to take all possible measures to protect yourself online. I'd wager that 1 out of every 5 will try to take avantage in one way or another. I don't kown Charles well enough to back him or crucify him so I simply responded here to maybe clear this up. I called his cell and left him a voice message. I suppose we'll see if and or when he responds.

After 30 you can file a dispute...

I also hope all works out right.. I will gladly post the outcome of the situation, good or bad.... I would like to get my tank done sometime... so good would be better...lol

I will stand by my feeling that I am/was being ignored by the seller.. which I feel is certainly not right.

Yeah it has not gotten any better.. no response and no merchandise... Guess I should have never dealt with anyone that would only accept a money order for payment... at least with PayPal I could have disputed it..

I have seen some people have gotten some response by calling the sellers local police department to report the fraud... guess I will need to do the same if something does not show up in the mail within the next day....

I yupically ONLY accept paypal. It costs me a buck or 2 to do it and to cash it out but atleast there is a trail to follow.

I filed a complaint today with the Internet Crime Complaint Center. They are a government agency working to assist people effected by cyber-crime. The information I provided, as well information from ReefCentral.com will be forwarded to the appropriate legal agencies I was told.

I hope you altleast get your money back. That stinks! I make sure I communicate 100% regarding anything sold on Ebay so this kind of think never happens. I did buy junk before, twice and wasn't happy but atleast I did get the merchandise and one seller returned my cash.

Well what I know is he has not lived in my area for too long but seemed to be a nice and knowledgable guy with a solid job. Not long ago he put everthing for sale and I haven't heard from him other than the post he made on this forum about selling. Maybe he felling to a bad situation? I don't know but it's unfortunate for both of you that a sale has aparenty gone south. I have no idea where he lives or even if he is still here... Sorry!
