Cheap and simple PVC Beckett Housing. LOTS of pics.

I know this is an old thread but this helps me out a lot. I needed to figure out a way to make one of these and now I dont have to, its already been done. :)

Does anyone have a pic showing how your feeding two of these with only one pump? I have everything ready to go but the way I had the plumbing setup looked kind of awkward.

A T at the top of the tubes. Each side of the straight part of the T goes to the beckett tubes, the T side goes to the pump.

Edit: The T goes between the two beckett tubes to connect them. It almost reads as if I meant to put a T on each Beckett Tube.

Beckett Tube here T Beckett Tube here

It has two beckett tubes. The two white tubes up the side. At the top of the beckett tubes, where the elbows are, they would be turned towards each other with a T between them. The other side of the T would, naturally, go to the pump,.

On my mr2 I don't have enough room to point the 90's toward each other and connect them with a tee. The box is kind of small on this skimmer, there is only about 4.5" seperating the two injector housings.

The sooner you put a T on it after the pump, the more head pressure you are going to see on the pump. So, the later in the system you can add it, the better its going to perform. How much room is between the two beckett tubes? Are they close enough that a street elbow would fit on the tubes and slide into the T?

I just saw where you said 4.5". I should pay more attention. See if the street elbow or trimming the T down would leave enough room to get a good glue joint on it.

that's a good idea I didn't think of using street elbows instead of standard ones I'll give it a shot....thanks!

Sorry to dig this thread up literally a year later, but I was wondering if a Beckett would work if driven by a Quiet One 4000 (1017gph)?

I have a Coralife superskimmer 220 that I'll be using this on. I know I'll probably have to mod the skimmer to get this to work, but the skimmer was a freebie and my system is only 45g of tank (and will be an additional 40g of actual sump water volume here in a few weeks).

In other words, if my pump doesn't claim to put out 1200gph at 8', it likely wont' work? Even though I'll be using it basically at point-blank range?

If so, I may need to spend the money on a Mazzei or just buy a cheap venturi and fiddle with it.

Any way, the CSS220 is not big enough to handle a beckett foam head. Go for the Mazzei, prolly 520 and you'll be good with existing pump.

Built skimmer and used foam-jet like in diagram above my problem is water coming out of air holes and air valve, is this from back pressure i have 1" going in and 1" going out but reduced down to 3/4 gate valve for adjusting water height in skimmer?

They exist by other names. I just yesterday bought one from Home depot as part of a large pond fountain kit. Look for "foam jet" on the listing of the contents of the kit. The whole kit cost $11, but you can probably find just the foam jet online if you look around.
