cheap bulbs

You can get one around 300 bucks. The only one that I know who has one is Grimreefer up in Denver. I too would love to have one. Maybe the club can buy one for the whole club to borrow?

Dan the link is in BRIGHT blue letters like Russ said. Get some glasses. But Russ the link does go to a dead end though. I would be happy to read the thread. Where is it located?

here is the actual URL; http://reeflightinginfo.arvixe.com/phpadsnew/adview.php?n=ae48f354

but like you said, Dan, its a dead link. I tried taking off upto the last / and it requires a user name and password to enter.

Umm, no it isn't--at least not on this computer. I've checked my RC and browser settings and there's nothing selected that would change the appearance of anything in the threads. All I see in the thread is:

Here is a good site to find out some data on lamps. Click .

On the other hand, two of murf's post DO have visible links, so I guess you're seeing something I don't. Perhaps you're better at these cornputer thingys than I am.

here is Russ' original thread;

Here is a good site to find out some data on lamps. Click here . Lamp selection.........

In the original post, here is underlined and in blue to indicate a hyperlink.

That's really wierd. I switched computers and it still looks the same. No hyperlinks, and instead of Click here, it just says Click with no extra spaces where the hyperlink might be.
Here's what I see:

Here is a good site to find out some data on lamps. Click . Lamp selection is prolly one of the toughest decision to make. A same brand lamp will fire differently on different type of ballast. What looks good to other may not look good to you. One reason why I rarely ask recommendation on lamp selection. Another thing, is the marketing of manufacturers. All these 14K lamps are actually over 20K. You will not find a true 14k lamp. Even the highly praised Phoenix 14K is actually over 20K. You will see that some 10K rated bulbs are actually 6K which will make your tank look like somebody pee'd in it. Pretty much all lamps are made in Asia somewhere. Even some of the German claimed lamps are made in Asia. Nothing wrong with that IMO. One thing you got going is you are running SE lamps which gives you more of a choice. That is what I hate about DE, limited bulb choices that gives great color and par. Anyways, on that link I gave, PPFD is par and the higher the value, the better. CCRT is the actual K. If it has a 0 or if its blank, it means its over 20K. The understanding I got, Sanjays sophisticated equiptment can only read 20K and lower.

In "Post Reply", I clicked on the "http://" button. Thats where I put the link. I must have copied the Reef Central banner. Lets try it again. Click here

That's better. I see the link and it works. Thanks.

I guess I don't need glasses to correct my 20/15 vision after all.
