Cheap Chinese ozone generator

I picked one of these up on a whim off eBay the other day.

It's a cheap piece of equipment shipped straight from China. Made by a company called Resun.

I've gotta say, even though I'm only a day into using it, I'm pretty darn impressed.

It's a corona discharge unit, will run on 110v or 220v with no adapter necessary, has a variable output between 50 and 250mg/hr and a built in air pump. Even when the generator/pump isn't running, it allows enough air through to allow my APF600 to keep skimming just fine. It's fairly compact, quiet and seems well built. I can't speak to it's longevity, but again, I'm very impressed, especially once you consider I paid a whopping $42 for it :)

Anyway, I hadn't seen it mentioned before so I thought I'd throw up a quick review.

Oooh, no, sure hadn't.

It's on a 120 and is being controlled by an ACIII. I guess I'll let it go for a couple of days and see.

Big thanks for the heads up!

Personally the words 'cheap' and 'ozone reactor' shouldn't be in the same sentence... unless maybe the rest of the sentence is 'I'll never own a...'

Ozone can be dangerous. Even in relatively low and nearly impossible to detect concentrations. I've worked with industrial ozone generators used to test cable insulation. It can be nasty stuff. I have an Ozotech unit. A little costly but IME worth it.

And I'm the one usually telling people you get what you pay for. Should listen to my own advice huh?
