Cheap Ebay metal halide bulbs

For an extra 60 bucks i didnt have to hassel with finding new vendor of cheap bulbs and i know the reeflux bulbs are good so i paid 60 bucks each for them.

I understand that you are not happy about the price jump but I bought these bulbs because of this thread and are very happy with them. But, for me the price is still very reasonable for the quality of bulb compared to alot of other bulbs.

i think they are worth every penny....They are the best bulbs I have used so far. I have crazy growth and awesome coloration

I read through the entire thread yesterday at work and decided to think about it overnight. This morning I ordered 2 Se 14K 250's. They will replace my 10K ushios which are at 15 months.
Hopefully I'll receive them by the weekend so I can view them on my days off. I'll post the results next week with some before after pics.

My new ReefOptics 14k SE 250w
My new ReefOptics 14k SE 250w
I'll start by saying so far I couldn't be more pleased with the bulbs. I ordered them Thursday morning and they were at my door Saturday afternoon. The packaging was as good as it gets. I even got a free towell with company logo. The bulbs were securely boxed and then some.
I installed them Sunday morning and they came on with the timer at the normal time spans and stayed on for the normal 8hr period per bulb. I also run 2 48" and 2 36" URI VHO Actinic bulbs driven by a 660 electronic ballast. The 2 14k's are driven by Coralvue electronic ballasts. Once the first bulb was on for a few hours I couldn't have been happier with the color. When the second bulb came on a few hours later I was totally happy with the way they looked. After the second day I haven't seen any major difference in my corals but I have oticed a little more florescence from some.
I'll try to get some better pics next week after the bulbs have burned in. I haven't touched up anything. The bulbs offer a nice white with a touch of blue that looks great. The pics make it look too blue.

Enjoy your ReefOptics bulbs. I have been using 14k ReefOptics bulbs for about 9 months now. i have been very pleased with them. They are holding their color well and my coral growth is fine.
I have two 6 month old 20k XM 250w SE bulbs that I want to replace. I don't like the slow growth from the 20k bulbs. I just read this whole (long) post, and am still skeptical about the cheap bulbs on ebay.
I was looking at getting these to replace the XM's with:
