cheap moonlights?

I got a couple of the LEDs on transformers. I recently saw a dude that used a string of LED christmas lights in his canopy.

how difficult is it to build your own?

For Steve? It's a piece of cake, for you and me, uhh......an hour or two :D Seriously though it's fairly simple, just a matter of knowing what your doing and having the right supplies and tools for the job. That's if you wanted to build one electronically, otherwise people are getting very creative with all the LED's out there.

I'm currently using a blue rope light but it puts out too much ambient light.

Other than the leds what else do you need to buy?

funman1, what are they called at HSC Electronics? I didn't see "moon lights", but then again I'm not real good at using a computer! :D

I build a 11 LED bar thanks to JLFnJLF it was SUPER easy to do. You just have to find what you want to mount them in which I used the wall corner plasic L shaped at Lowes which was 11 bucks then basicly you clip one end of the LED in half solder in a resistor then solder on the power wire which when i did i used shrink wrap to help prevent corozion (sp! ) then wraped it in black tape. I have 11 over my tank and it is not too bright but you can still see everything when the lights are off but the room lights are on.

They are way cool and took me about 2 hours to do. You then connect them to 12VDC power supply , chances are you have a few around. I also put a switch in line and they are on a timer.

Moonlights rock !
