I received a catalog today that had both these 6-bulb (54W T5HO) fixtures and an 8-bulb fixture. The 6-bulb, though, comes with individual metallic surface reflectors. They have a standard electronic ballast, too. The purpose is for use in 30'+ wet location high-bay areas instead of using MH fixtures. The cost is hard to beat -- about $119 empty and $140 with bulbs -- and you can get six 5000K bulbs, too (good enough for plants in the short run). In the catalog, if we get $250 on an order, we can get free shipping, too (not sure about the tax). It I might be interested in these, but I need to verify the dimensions first. The fixture says it is 24" x 48.8", but I think part of the 48.8" are the mounting feet. For $140, I might be willing to modify it some, anyway.
Let me know if you are interested in a group order. I am not sure yet, but I am leaning that way.
P.S. The only draw-back I can think of is that the ballast box down the middle has a galvanized cover, which isn't the best material for standing up to salt spray. It works fine for FW, though.
I am planning to make a modification or two that makes that ballast go remote, anyway.
