Cheato Breaking Up

My tank has been up and running for about 5 months.Three months ago I added a large ball of Cheato to my help kick start my refugium.
Well it wasnt growing at all so I changed out bulb for new 5k cfl(spotlight type).
Old bulb was from previous set up and was growing well at that time.
Since bulb change,Cheato is breaking up into tiny pieces and is almost gone.
Only thing I can think of is tank is nutrient deficient?I dont see any other forms of algae growing anywhere in tank.
Any other ideas why this is happening?

I forgot to add,there is 2 pencil urchins and 1 pin urchin there as well.

urchins could be eating it or you dont have the nutrient levels in your tank to support the growth of cheato

If you don't see any other algae growing, then you probably don't need chaeto. If it is dying, then it will release the nutrient back so it is doing more harm than good.
