I just got 3 fairly decent size handfull of cheato and I have placed it in the second chamber on my NC DX. There is so much of it that it is cruched down from the bottom of the chamber all the way to the top. Should I remove some of it, or will it be ok like it is?

Sounds like it's time to prune it, or take some out in your case, so it has more room to grow.
