Imports are still banned so we can't get R. floridas at any price. However, we do have local R. yumas although not as nice colours as you guys get. These are typically A$15-25 per polyp where normal discosomas are around A$5-10.
High prices here for things like cleaner shrimp etc are more to do with local availability, supply and demand, strict quarantine etc. Since no imports of inverts are allowed at all (fish are allowed) we can only get what is locally caught and with so few licenses granted and strict limits applied, invert availability varies.
Fish that are allowed in, yellow tangs for example, aren't that much more than locally caught fish. Local clown = A$40, tang = A$100. Allowing for import costs, 2 week quarantine, feeding etc it's pretty reasonable I think.
Corals don't deserve a 2000% markup IMO.
