This is a pic of it after being in my tank for one day. Does it normally take a few days to begin to puff up? It expelled some zoozanthalae too; once a few hours after I put it in and today at about 5:00. Is that normal for these corals?

Thats a very healthy Platygyra and a nice color morph to boot! It will not puff up any more than that though. Expelling waste from time to time is normal for most LPS.

Thanks! I offered it some food during the day yesterday because a couple sweepers were visible. Im just worried because I thought they puff up a little bit more like a candycane and in some parts the skeleton is visible under the flesh. Does it need similar placement to a candy cane? I just got my new metal halide balast in and the drilled 40g tank. I fired the light up today and it rocks. Ill move the 55g and start setting it up this weekend. Thanks for the info in this thread and the other!

platygra likes low light moderate flow(enough flow to keep detritus off of it) congrats on the new lights, but i'd keep that particular coral away from them for now
