Ryan Nielsen decided to upgrade to a 120 gallon sps dominant bare bottom reef. Since he builds custom stands and canopies, he thought it would be nice to display his work at the Ankeny Home Show. He set up the tank with the help of a local custom install and maintenance company, and will leave it at the home show for the 3 weeks that the show runs. After that it will be moved to its final location in his home office.

The room the system is in at the home show is perfectly matched to the tank. The room has a very cool nautical/island theme with a bar, shuffleboard table, and the reef.

The stand and canopy are walnut frame with birds eye maple panels. The lip of the stand is done in granite. The workmanship is unreal.

The system itself is awesome. This thing was completely installed in less than 36 hours. How many day old tanks look like this?

If you want to see more, just go check out the tank at the Ankeny Home Show.

if I weren't on my way to the hospitality (beer) room I'd photoshop your tank onto that canvas. Somebody run with it!

Awesome Ryan et all. Beautiful work on the stand Ryan! I hope to make it over and see it in person. At the home show that is, I know I will see it at your place.

Well, since no one did it for Ryan 2: I now present the quickest and dirtiest photoshop I've ever done in my life, with a bit of help from bombay and tanqueray
