Actually, it kind of gives me an idea.

Has anyone looked into using ultrasonics in an aquarium? I've seen them in ponds and swimming pools for algae control. I wonder what it would do in saltwater (not in the main tank, but in the sump). Maybe make a skimmer for nanoreef tanks.

I saw this last year and a small one went on sale for 10bucks, so I got it for my nano. I saw no difference in clarity or in anything else for that matter. I have left it in as I have another method of water flow for 10 bucks so that wasn't too bad.
