Checking Moonlight/Night mode on 7095

I've read through the posts concerning the moonlight function not working and I really didnt come up with a 1,2,3 step method to determine if I need to send the 7095 in...

If its just no moonlight that's a solder job? How (besides putting my hand in the tank) can I tell if the night mode also isnt functioning...top setting for night or bottom?

I think it's toasted, but I'm eager to avoid being without it, I've only had it 3 hours...love it so far!! Except of course the part that isnt working, no love there.

I dont know if you monitor this forum; I confirmed the night mode does indeed work. I'll contact you in the morning about getting a replacement LED for the moonlight function...

You will need to send it in to get the moonlight/photocell assembly replaced unless you are very confident with soldering. We are both in Texas so your downtime will be negligible and the pumps work without the controller so it is not really that critical.

If I remove the four screws in back will I plainly see what I'd be soldering? PCB repair work experience might make it doable....If I can tell I'll unscrew the back..

Is this a known issue? I have a new 7095 that I have not used yet, is there a way I can check a serial number? I would hate to get it all set up and then find I have to send it in. Is there anyway I can inspect it?

thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan,

This is not a common problem we have sold more then a thousand 7095 and only had 2 I am aware of.

As Grame said, and it usually only happens after some time because the LED sealing had an opening where some water entered and corroded the connection. It is pretty infrequent, not sure how many we have sold in the US but I would say it is upward of 2000 and I have only gone through 10 of these LED assemblies in the last couple years.
