Any idea what is in Chem-marin STOP HAIR ALGAE?
it says it is made from 100% all natural ingredients... It is grey and kind of viscous (like honey). You are supposed to apply it by covering the hair algae with it, using a plastic hypodermic needle. Only been using it for a day, but just curious as to what you think might kill off algae just by touching it, yet be safe for reef.
It does mention not to get it on any hard or soft coral, so maybe it will kill them as well...

well, I can tell you it didn't do anything except kill my soft coral, which it inevitably wound up getting on. The instructions say not to get it on coral, but they forget that even if you turn off all circulation, the fish don't have an off button. Once the fish swam around, the honey-like substance became more suspended, and mobile. it migrated onto my coral and killed them. The hair algae remained.

my recommendation: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, OR RISK YOUR SPECIMENS
