I just set up an Oceanic cube a couple of weeks ago, adding the live rock last Saturday. The water got a bit yellow, and there was some smell from die off, so I decided to add some carbon to clear things up. I was skimming the day the rock went in, and had some nice foam after two days. I first added some regular carbon and the skimmer still foamed away big time. Then, I put chemi-pure in and no more foam! Its been two days now and I'm just bemused. Either chemi-pure is a miracle scavenger and is pulling in all the proteins, or some other chemical process is preventing foam formation. Comments, thoughts, opinions???
