For dwarf angels its always a gamble when you put them in a reef tank. Argis are one of the more safer options though when it comes to reef tanks

About the best of the Centropyge for a Reef. But one of the more aggressive also, mine became a real tyrant eventually in my old 36gallon Bowfront. Even killing a couple of new fish ( including Dottybacks). The fish it grew up with were not bothered, but any newcomers got the boot (er, got the fin!)LOL.
I miss the little bully, RIP

Sorry about your loss. I couldn't believe how much of a pain this little bugger caused to much larger new comer. I couldn't give it away fast enough. lol I probably needed a coral beauty to stand up to this fish. It's true though it didn't bother any corals and existing fish.

indeed, it is commonly reported to be the most safe of all the dwarf angels, but still not a guarantee.

I agree on both fronts; I've seen them completely take over small tanks, not tolerating any other fish. But, as noted, they're one of the best bets for corals.

I had a pair. One ate acros and gorgs, the other was fine. I removed both, nonetheless.

Well, I like my Flameback (C. acanthops) a close relative. About the same risk in Reef tanks, too. Its also pretty darn aggressive. But all the fish I own can stand up to it..
