To start off I have been treating with hyposalinity. My SG is at 1.01. I did have a problem with my pH. I found it over the weekend at 7.5 & I since have had it up to around 8 & have been adding a pH buffer to it daily. The problem is the dorsal and anal fins look very ratty. On the dorsal fin, I can see some of the bones protruding. There are white splotches on its face that look like the skin is missing. I'm not sure if it's hole in the head. I'm assuming it is from the fish stressing due to the low pH. Before I started hypo, there was a bacterial infection on this fish & I treated it with tetracycline. Before this treatment, all the fins look ratty but now the tail fin looks great. Should I just wait it out and keep the pH stable or is there something I can do to be proactive instead of just reactive? Does this sound like a bacterial thing or is it stress?
