The LFS has two Chevrons. One seems more shy - he hides when you walk up to the tank. He has very bold black lines.

The other has less bold black lines, but a better personality - he is not shy at all.

Two questions.

Will a more shy Chevron "come around" once established?

and

Does the definition and boldness of the black lines indicate how nice they'll look as an adult?

I always go with the more active, less shy fish. My chevron is certainly NOT shy but then again I was not choosing between two.

All adult Chevrons look like...adult chevrons. Get the more active guy; something may very well be funny with the shy one and juvenile chevrons are not particularly hard fish.

I would also go with the bolder fish. Besides if you provide him a great diet his colors to will become more impressive. Get the bolder one.

I love reading about Chevrons.. I am still up in the air if I want to get one or not.. Everyone says they are ugly as adults.. but I dont really mind the look...

If I do find one I will get a bolder one.

I kind of think they're better looking as adults! The colors are great on the juveniles, but their eyes look too big. They grow into them!

I didn't yet. Was more or less just curious about the adult coloration and whether it was normal for Chevrons to be a little shy. :)
