ive been hearing around at my local fish shops that this coral is starting to become a rare commodity now. is this true or are there still plenty left somewhere in the world.

Well in general all the reefs in the world are in trouble. However, in this case a fish store telling you that some made up name coral that they probably dont even really know where it came from in the world is a rare commodity is really just someone trying to tell you why you should buy such a small frag at such a high price. "fiction" prolly came from Foxes basement.

IME someone is labeling a coral as rare is trying to increase profit on said coral. Rare does not always mean $$, I have seen some really nice only seem once wild or cultured sps for under $65 for mini colonies 3-4 inches.

Well said. It's the same situation as when vendors label their corals ORA or Tyree. How would you know if they really came from those distributors?

No it's not rare by any means. I picked up a piece this past weekend to replace one I lost in the great mag spike of '11.. It was in the 9$ frag bin @ neptune.
