Hello everyone,
I am currently in the middle of constructing a 350 gallon tank as part of a 500+/- gallon system and I need to figure out how to put my chiller in the loop? My tank project can be seen here... http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=716410
The main display will be fed by a Reeflo Dart from the sump and have a Reeflo Hammerhead on the closed loop. I thought that this would be too much flow to run through the chiller and these pumps aren't capable of supplying the head pressure needed. The chiller needs a pump capable of moving water up about 10 ft and over about 25ft and then back. The loop will enable me to remotely locate my chiller in a warehouse area of my shop so that I'm not pumping all of the heat from the tank into the viewing area or sump area.
Any ideas?? Should I go directly into the main display since I have a 40 gallon frag tank and a 65 gallon refugium? Should I come out of the sump and go right back in the sump so that the rest of the system gets the same cool water? And if so will that disable me from bringing the main display temperature down?
Please advise. The goal is to cool the system while locating the chiller upstairs about 25 ft. away.
Thanks in advance!
