Chiller on the Way

The water would have to be moving sooo Slow for it to have a noticable effect. All I'm trying to get accross is if it was that easy, everybody would be making them. Its much easier to change air temp than is to change water temp, and it takes alot less energy.

Matt, I understand that no R134a is in the plans.. What I was trying to get across is blowing a fan across the circulating water will have very little reward.. You have to have timed or Temp controlled water flow for the water to spend enough time in the condenser or radiator for it to change temps. The water will change the temp of the material used much quicker than any air blowing thru or across it, unless the water is stalled for periods of time.

And a heater core will stay pretty hot if the engine is running and water is circulating. If you stop the water flow then yes it will cool down. That's what happens when you turn the heater off??

Temperature differential is the name of the game.

Say your room temp is 72F, ahhh comfy! Your tank is 85F, Gerrrr too hot! If you utilize a device that uses the differential between the room and the tank temp and the heat exchange is 100% (1:1 ratio) efficient then it would work. Unfortunately to use a cooling system using only a radiator cooling system similar to a car’s the radiator would be as big as a house (no I did not calculate it).

Would it work at all…depends. What do you consider working, there would be some sort of temp pull down but you would not be able to measure it with a regular thermometer to +/- .001.
