Chiller question

I have had an unlucky but bad experience with an inline chiller and now wanted to get a drop in chiller instead. I don't have a sump for my aqaurium, i have a fluval 404, and was wondering if it is ok to drop in the coil into the tank. The company says it's fine, the coil is titanium and foster and smith didn't have many issues with it - but I wanted to get some more opinions. Any advice or ideas?

I have never used a drop in, but don't see a difference if it's in the tank "vs" a sump other than the look of having the coil in the tank. I would be sure to have good flow around the coil so you don't end up with cold spots in the tank.

Well I have a lot of live rock, i have a 46 gallon bow front and about 105-110lbs of live rock so was planning to hide in the back behind the rock with a powerhead next to it for circulation? what do you guys think?

Sounds OK, as long as you provide good flow around the coil you should be fine.
