No not really ahh it runs about 82-86 dont get how though
AC is set on 77 in house and no sun light hits it and i know
that is a little high

My friend had the same problem but his tank is 200 gallons

we both live in Florida

im in florida too .. i live in melbourne beach .. i think we all have the same troubles here .. but i wouldnt really put a chiller on it .. how long are you running your lights and what kind of lighting are you using ?? i built my chiller for my 180 and it works i run it about 1 hour in the morning and 2 in the heat of the afternoon .. plus i run 2 fans across the top of the water

i have the Rapid Led set of crees for it i run the blues two hours add the white for 4 and cut of the whites and run the blues for another 2 hours and temp dont go up from LEDs at all it just stays about 85 right now and never lowers maybe to 84

i know your tank is small and all ever think about just ice packs in zip lock bags ?? just dont let the temp swing that much bring the temp down slow ...

Im just looking for something steady i know if i buy a chiller it wont run
all day i just want to keep it at the same temp and not have to worry about it

what about your return pump and powerhead? those can somtimes throw off heat! maybe a ph or pump upgrade will save you $$ and a couple degrees on the thermometer.

also are u using a digital theremometr or the glass one? i had a glass on that was like 3deg off, and that will put you right at the high level of most corals

+1.. Electric pumps absolutely throw heat.. usually not enough to matter.. but could be worth looking into..

I keep an analog thermometer right next to my tank.. helps to know the ambient temp of the room right in that area.. those temps are a little high...

lol that link was for u(as a reference to small chiller), i have a 1.5hp commercial grade chiller.

I just bought a 1/15 mini artica chiller & have yet to use it. Now that we're out of the 100's the temp in the office isn't so bad. I'm hanging onto it to use for my 28g, they're good up to 40g.

I went topless/rimless on my BC29 for this reason. I have a fan blow across the top of the tank, it's controlled by my apex. My house was 88 deg when I got home from work today. Tank is steady between 79.7 and 80.0.
