chiller recommendation

I'm gonna start up a 180, but trying to do alot of research before I jump into it.......anyways, I'm curious if a 1/3 is going to be good enough......I dont want the chiller to be running for long periods of time. I'm planing on having a sps tank with 2 or 3 250w MH

whats the room temp? how many and what pumps are you using, they also add heat. its best to go one size up than recommended.

I live in socal, so the temps usually dont get too high..... I havent bought any equipment yet, but on an average reef setup that size, what size is recommended?

I would recommend 1/3 hp aqualogic or tradewind inline model for your tank.hth.

what temp do you keep your house set on? During the summer here in MO I keep the house on 75-78 and the tank doesnt get over 83. I run 3x250 DE and 2x150 De over my 175 so you may not need a chiller.

I dont have ac in my house.......I have a 60 gal that has 2 150w hqi over it, and when I first got the light I was just using a fan to cool the tank down. It kinda worked for awhile, but eventually the temps got too high. I ended up buying a 1/5 chiller, and it seems to work pretty efficiently on that size tank.
