Well it's that time of the year. I have 2x250w pendants. I was up to 86 degrees today. I have central air but I don't think it will be enough to keep my temp stable. What is a decent chiller?
I run two 250w and four 54w T5 without a chiller, I use two 6" air king fan blow across the top and one in the sump, my temperature mantain at 79 degree temperature out side is 88 degree and temperature in the house is 77 degree
I had a 1/4 HP delta star on my 120 for years. It ran almost all the time during the summer. But I live in Houston, and run 2 400w MHs.
I purchased a DIY kind of chiller from EBAY for $350 and am very glad I did. It looks like a retrofitted window unit. The builder says it's BTU rating is equal to a 1/2HP (6000 BTU). It will drop my tank 2 degrees in about 20 min. I plummed it inline with my closed loop running of a sequence barracuda throttled back just a bit.
