What is the tubing material used in chillers? All civilian air conditioning systems use copper or other metals to exchange in heat in air condition systems. Does anyone know what is used in chillers for the heat exchange? I would like to explore into making my own chiller.

most aquarium chillers use titanium tubing which is more expensive than other metals but it is corrosion resistant to saltwater and ph. some people use stainless steel tubing.

so stainless steel wouldn't poison the water? now where to buy stainless tubing.

Titanium is the gold standard for chiller coils in sea water. Stainless, even the marine grade 316L, is prone to pitting and crevice corrosion.

Go for Titanium. Stainless steel pits and corrodes VERY quickly in saltwater.

stainless steel should be writen more like stain less cause it still corrodes just not as fast as other metals!!!!!!!
