thanks for all the input. the original link i posted was before i went to the eshinesystems website and began talking with a sales rep. they offer a bunch of options including a few panels with a combo of Cree 3w xp-g cool white 9000k leds with 3w cree xp-e 450nm royal blue leds for dirt cheap and some fixtures have have dimmers. the website isnt the best to navigate but a rep will send you a price sheet. check it out and share with me your thoughts

I am slightly confused. I own the first gen 75w 25 LED fixture, but the box says 50 like on your site you displayed. I asked the vendor from ebay and they said it is 3W each, disregard the box. Who do I believe... hmmmm lol.

And to add to the confusion Cree does not make a 9,000K XP-G LED. The highest rating on the XP-G Whites from Cree is 8,300K.

This falls under buyer be aware. Would be interesting if you actualy measured the power and spectrum on these LED's.

Few questions, will Sam's work on my 220 thats 30 inches tall? Do I need optics if so which ones?
What is this heat sink no heat sink talk? Do the cheaper ones not have heat sinks???
I'm confused on that

Hey guys just got my Tao's on Saturday and built the canopy yesterday (don't think she was happy I spent almost all of mothers day in the garage). This is my first time having serious lighting in my tank, before I just had two T8's in a FOWLR. I'm interested in doing some corals and was wondering what you guys do for a lighting schedule with your leds.

Hi TropTrea :) ,

I think (hope) that it is an typo , if i turn on only the whites @ 100 % i would say that they have a 4500 K ~ 6500 K° look.
When blue on 20 % gives a 8000°K
and with bleu / white @ 100 % about 10000 ~12000°k
I like the + 15000 °K so i set blue at 100 % and white at 80 % at midday .

greetingzz tntneon :)

Haven't heard back from sam in like 3 days... I prob am annoying with all my questions but I gotta ask before I buy lol hopefully I hear back soon so I can buy my leds

I know one or 2 people got the A4 I am interested in learning more on it I heard its easier to repair if something goes wrong but how so? And I like that it supposedly has a much betterf fanning systen for better cooling .... Anyone know what the cover is on these? Make sure whomever got these updates us when they get them in

What ratio did you go with on your 48 led unit?

What kind of blues? What kind of whites? And how many of each? And any uvs?

1:1

24 White, 20 blue, 4 Violet (if available), otherwise 24/24. If I want more blues or want to change things around later on, I can, so its a non issue.

How can u change them on this unit so easily?

Its a modular unit, no glue keeping it together. It most likely is easy to open, remove the led, put a new one in, and solder the wires back to the new led.

The power supply and drivers most likely use connector wires too, so if it goes bad you just disconnect and replace with a new one. I'm going to even see if I can wire in a sunrise/sunset controller. If I can find PWM + - wires from the led driver, and if they send out a 10v pwm signal, I can wire it to the BoostLed Typhon controller. Would make a SICK fixture for the price if this is possible.

I'm the first person in the US to order the nova model, so no one knows for sure yet. Once I get it I'll post more info.

Have reported here several times about EShines LEDS had nothing but good things to say. I had the fixtures 3/4 months now and the controller has gone out on one. For the last week have had a lot of runaround from eshines and now no contact at all. Going to give it a few more days before I really come down on them

Same question to you what combo did you go with in your A4?

1:1 Blue to White. Since the channels are individually dimmable, I didn't see an issue with it.

I should add that I am going to run this over an 18" x 18" cube and hold off on my bigger tank for now. If I like it, I'll move it later. If I don't I can replace it with a Kessil or something.

Just opened my black box I ordered from Sam.

http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/106974424.html

my first reaction is WOW!!. The packaging is first rate. My communications with Sam were phenomenal and the light itself is fantastic. Now I am a Noob and have no experience with the more expensive models of LED, but for $165 total cost, shipped in five days, I cannot imagine a better deal. I cannot recomend these lights or Sam any higher. If anybody wants more info please PM me. I will post pics ASAP

The $165 units are ready to ship, and 5 days is damn fast from China. The Novas will take about 2 weeks to ship. Still waiting on mine to ship, but it is also a custom order.

HB, how many plugs do those fixtures have? Curious as to how to have them on on timers. Thanks.
