Let me know how it turns out.
I would love to be able to dim them with my Apex Jr

Will do. My lights should be here in a week or so and my controller as well.

My new Nano is still being built and I won;t have anything wet for at least a month or so, but that gives me plenty of time to play around with the controller.

I will be waiting for your input on it. I've very interested in the Apex, so if sunrise/sunset is possible with it, I would order it immediately and have no need for the Typhon.

Well I am ready to order my unit I'm waiting to hear back from sam on my customized unit I want and payment method. Does anyone know if you can use paypal?

Would these cheap Chinese led fixtures work for a 24x24x6-8 in frag tank? What would be a good one to look at?

Based on experiences here from people who owned them for 6 months or more, they perform just as well as Metal Halides and most of the time even better.

There are a few different models in the thread. You would have to see which one would be best for you. I suggest a dimmable one.

I can't wait to see some of the nova a6s. I have a 120 (4x2x2) sps/lps tank and want new lights for it. I also have a 180 zoa/polyp tank and am wondering if two will do for that tank as well.

Got mine the other day and i am impressed with the quality. They are heavier than i thought they would be and i love the dimmable as i can adjust it from white to blue and all shades in between to get the exact look i want. Oh and the fans are very quiet too.

Blue about 20%

blue/white 20% each

With light in pic

I have a little pink polyp fully extended
Now time to add some more corals and see how good they grow.

Just ordered 2x A6 units. 72 LED's in each unit, so I went with 36blue/30white/6uv.
Coming from ati t5's, had to get the uv's!

Here's the link, with 90° optics. What do you guys think? Great price on them

yes, will probably only run them at 50%, plan on getting a bigger tank soon.

Hey there Customreefer, wondering why you went with the 90 optics rather than a standard 120, or no optics?I thought the standard 120 would be sufficient for any tank up to 24 inches depth? I am looking at one A6, but I am still figuring out the optics and blue/white ratio. I also like a slightly more blue look, thus a higher blue to white ratio will look something like yours.

How long did it take for your order to process and get to your doorstep?

What unit and ratio did you go with kbell?

30blue/25white no optics---Basicaly the same unit ian went with minus the optics.

Sam Chen helped me with this one but he gave me a link from his colleague Hendy Yang, but sam still gets credit for the sale and his name was on all paperwork i recieved. It lights up my tank no problem. I have them at about 20% and my star polyp is fully extended. and they go way brighter when you turn them up.

Here is the link.

Just got an update. My light is shipping today!

They updated the design. The one in the pics right now is a testing sample. The final NOVA A4 being shipped has two notable differences,

1. There are no dedicated on/off switches. The lights can be turned off by the dimmer switches now.

2. The power cords come out of the top of the units instead of the sides.

I can't wait to get it set up! Looks bright as hell.

Mine is the standard unit not the nova but i have switches and the dimmer knobs. The dimmer knobs click when you turn them all the way down and turns the lights compleatly off like the switches do too. But i like having switches and dimmer knobs myself cause once i get them dialed in where i want them i dont want to turn the dimmer knobs to turn them off for some reason and lose the setting. Id rather flip a switch to turn them off if i need to turn them off for some reason and leave the dimmer knobs where they are.

Without switches you will either have to unplug them or mark where the dimmer knobs are to save the setting. so i dont know if i would cosider this an upgrade.

Well I found out that my order has yet to ship, now its supposed to be shipped Monday. I've been dealing with Hendy Yang, better told me that the uv's did not look good in the fixture, but the 48blues/24 whites looked "Beautiful." So I went that route. I was also contemplating the 120° but he insisted the 90° with optics. They say it's 7 business days for shipping, getting a little impatient though. Here's some pics of my actual fixtures they took last night for me, they said they were testing it to make sure everything was working correctly.

The NOVAs take around two weeks to ship, because they are being built to order. Mine didn't ship until 10 days later.

However, I got my tracking number Friday, and it's already in NY from Hong Kong! That means I should get my lights Monday or Tuesday. Once it ships, it ships incredibly quick.

Can't wait to set it up. I'm going to use the same rubbermaid double track wall mount bigcountry used. Seems to be the easiest way to hang them.

I bought 4 uv leds seperately. I'm going to try them out eventually. It shouldn't be too difficult to replace some of the blues with them.

hey just finished skimming this fourm i have a problem. i have two of these chinese led bricks
