They have a promotions for these lights and for two of them at 36" they come out little under $600. Any reviews?

I wouldn't trust the "Crees" in these. They list Cree temps and colors that Cree doesn't even make (violet). The generic bridgelux leds might be a better buy.

No one has tried them yet, I would love to hear if someone has.

Thank you all for having the testicular fortitude and trying out these lights while keeping us informed on the progress.

I think I'm going to try the D120's for a 90G.....

One question, when they say it's "Dimmable" for the d120 does that mean it can be done with dials on the fixture or a seperate controller is needed?

I brought my one from twilight about 4 days ago but used Paypal as a safer option since I haven't brought from them before. Simon said they are making it and it will be sent out on 28th or 30th but will let me know.

is there a page for paypal? thanks

I just did a GB with e.shine, and when I questioned them about the "colors" I was told that the color's used, i.e. UV, purple, red, green, etc., other than a couple of different whites or blues, were all epistar emitters.

As far as the standard Bridgelux emitters are concerned, my original LED's which were similar to these 120W (55 x 3w) that are being discussed were Bridgelux, and worked fine. I liked them so much that I chose them over the Cree offering for the same new fixture I just installed. I really believe that much of the price difference between them is in Cree's licensing fees.

First impressions of the Twilight fixture are not good. The White leds are extremely dim, even at 100% intensity by themselves, and the blues overpower them completely. With the ratio I used, it makes it look awful.

Either I'm not getting enough power to the whites, or they are using some terrible Epistars in this. The d120 and Nova are much brighter.

Not what I wanted to hear. Going to finally get mine tomorrow. Have you contacted Twilight on this?

Wow that's sounds bad. Im so glad that I went with the d120's and a4's. I hope others appreciate all the extra time you have put in to this thread. You really help keeping people informed.

Ok, im about to pull the trigger on the A8 lights on my 225g tank (84" x 24 x 24). I think two of these lights should be good but I also want to know if its worth the pricing. It looks like the total cost will be almost $750 for two of these lights if not more and that seems alot for aftermarket lights. Any thoughts?
does your tank have braces on it? if so this is something to consider because i have a 6ft tank and went with 3 nova a4's because of the braces in my tank

my a4's got here today!!!!:bounce1::bounce1::bounce1:
i have wired them in a series so all my blues turn in at once and my whites then come on all at once. its a nice feature to only have 2 plugs going into the sockets.

anyone have any pictures of their units hanging from ceiling NOT in a canopy? mine will be coming from the ceiling with no canopy and I'm looking for a way to hide all the cords etc.
corey

Not what I wanted to hear either. Mine should be arriving in the next week.

Yeah that is one of the reason I wanted to get two A8 instead of the smaller ones or even two a6. The center braces makes it very hard to position the lights so that it is not coverd by the braces. Do you have a picture of your setup.

i havent hung mine yet because I'm still trying to figure out how i want to do it. the reason i went with the a4's over the a6 or a8 is the a4's fit perfectly over my 24x24 openings created by my braces. i have to braces creating 3 spaces 24x24 and the 3 a4's fit right in there and will light them well
once i get them up and running ill take and post pictures
