I have a 180 watts LEd from my LFS, is better build, has a nice heat sink, and for i was told a better fan,s, the best thing is that is one year warranty in house
The problem is that i move from a 30" long tank to a 48" and i would love to get one of this chinnese ligths after reading this whole trhed, just not sure how to complement the one that i have all ready, is 30 royal blue and 25 20 k white
any suggestions?

I'm going to give it a few hours to see if maybe the whites will lighten up a bit, but so far I'm extremely disappointed with Twilight's fixture. I'm running each channel at 100% except for the moonlights, which are just 3 more royal blues.

The arrangement of leds isn't blended at all. Notice how the left side of the tank is blue, and the right side is more red... ***.

This is a closer view. Color is something above 20k and completely unnatural.

Leds just placed randomly. I thought they would at least blend them.

This is the Apollo SolarBlast fixture which shows a much better blend, and much stronger leds.

The last resort is to try to lower the blue channel to like 30-50%. I may just remove 20-25 leds or so and replace them with better bridgelux ones. Parallel strings be damned. I'd rather attempt it than get stuck with how this is currently.

Need to get better pics uploaded I will have better ones up in a little while. Those are hella small. Tapatalk is crap.

bhazzaard.. i was trying to order the one from twilight with like 80 leds in it. now im thinking im better off with the usa made like your showing above. for 50 bucks more apex controllable. twlight wanted 315.00

thanks

Let us know how it goes bhazard. If I am not happy with them, more than likely I will send them back. Are there any other mfr that have the dimmer control like these?

They might not all be like this, especially if you created your own grid on how you wanted them arranged.

My whites might be underpowered, or have a faulty driver. If they are supposed to be brighter, it would fix the color and output issues I'm having.

Evergrow is making their own light with controller soon. All the other Chinese fixtures I've seen with a controller are expensive, and priced on par with an AI Sol.

Sorry to hear the disappointment on the Twilight.. I was waiting to see how they are compared to the d120.

I been running my whites are less than 30% and the blue at 50%. Almost a month now and everything is great. I doubt I will go 100% on whites or blues on the d120. It is very bright right now and hurts the eyes (if you stare at it! LOL). Hopefully the corals that I have continue to show improvement.

Yeah, the brightness difference is what really disappoints me. The Evergrows are BRIGHT, where these seem almost half as bright. I guess Evergrow really does use a good Bridgelux bin, compared to these Epistars. Very noticeable difference.

Could be a bad light though. Would like to hear if others who have ordered from Twilight are experiencing the same thing.

Let me try asking this again. :) What lighting schedule is everyone finding to work well on the LED fixtures? Specifically I have the dual-dimmable d120's, i.e, separate dimmers for blue and white. What has been found to work long-term with these fixtures? Thanks.

I run mine for 12-14 hours with no issues. I would previously only run my MH/T5 for 6-8 hours because it would heat the tank too much. No heat issues with leds.

Please keep us updated. I will let you know tomorrow how mine turned out. Did you release the funds in the aliexpress escrow account? If they won't do anything to correct the problem you should be able to hold their funds.

At the moment I am running my lights total 10/11 hours. Probably do a max of 12 with 6/7 hours of day and 3/4 sunrise/sunset.

Problem is, I got what I asked for. It just happens to look like complete **** the way they arranged it, and the led quality is subpar. They made no attempt to actually make it look good.

I'm better off trying to fix it myself.

i havent hung mine yet because I'm still trying to figure out how i want to do it. the reason i went with the a4's over the a6 or a8 is the a4's fit perfectly over my 24x24 openings created by my braces. i have to braces creating 3 spaces 24x24 and the 3 a4's fit right in there and will light them well
once i get them up and running ill take and post pictures

Wish I had that kind of opening, my tank only has two openings and its pretty small hence looking for something that has more power with more spread
