chip on impeller shaft

While cleaning my 9420 skimmer pump I notice a small chip on the shaft where the impeller goes into the pump. Is this a problem? Thanks in advance

It may well result in more noise, but that is the only issue, if it runs quietly, I wouldn't worry about it, the chip may be in an obscure part that doesn't rub on the bushings and wouldn't generate any noise.

Thanks Roger for the reply, It is on the end if you run your fingers across it you can feel it. I will put it back in the pump to see what happens.
