I've just filled a new 272 UK litre freshwater aquarium with mains tap water.
My water supplier's quality report has a max chloramine level of 0.3mg/l for the end of 2019.
I've read that 1g of ascorbic acid with breakdown 1ppm of chloramine in 100g of water on a US site, so that would be for 378ltrs.
So would I need 0.22g of pure ascorbic acid to breakdown the chloramine in my 272ltr aquarium?
My vitamin c powder came with a spatula that weighs out 1g. I don't have digital scales, so I put a third of it into the aquarium. It seemed like very a small amount for such a volume of water so I thought I'd ask.
