Chocolate Tang I picked up from PETCO

Been in the tank for a week now. Sweet!

He is keeping company with a Purple Tang, Sailfin Tang, Hippo Tang, and Lt. Tang.

Trying my best to find a good sized Yelow Tang that the Purple will not kill.

Why? This store gets a lot of oddball stuff. Tanks clean and nothng dying. I was there when the ish came in and saw where they come from. I searched the name it Is apretty good source. I know that my LFS has bought from the same source. Not sure if I can repeat the name.

i just hear a lot of tanks getting wiped out when adding petco fish. certainly some locations are better than others though. looks like it is working out for you.

Nice pickup I love the chocolate tang. If I had a bigger tank I would definitely be adding one

Yeah, I wanted one for quite a while and for $39.99 I could not pass up on it. And watched in the tanks for a few days and then did QT it before adding to the DT tank.

As for the tank wipe out thing, I would think this is some thing that gets passed around like an old wive's tale. Any one making a good purchase will monitor their choice and even want to see them eat. Also asking questions and doing a bit of research helps this out also. All before just jumping in and pucharing a fish to add to the DT.

I just dont lile sterotyping anything just because of what may or may not have happened to some one else. Its easier to blame the other guy when we dont want to take responsbility for our own mistakes that could have prevented a wipe in the first place.

They have a I.O. Mimic Tang coming next week so I am doing my research now for compatilbity.

Beautiful fish! Why are they called "chocolate" tangs. BTW; I don't care if a fish comes from Petco or DD; IMO EVERYTHING should be QTd.

Some Petcos really aren't bad. There are a couple local(-ish) ones here that actually carry ORA fish and coral. Though, they also have hobbyist employees. Possibly why they have quality livestock.

I wish my petco was like that. The petcos around me should be shut down fish are all half dead an emaciated. Tanks haven't been cleaned in weeks. coral is hanging on by a thread. I feel so bad.

The petco in Milford seems ok, bought a couple fish from there when exotic fish and coral was in there dry spell. Never had any problems and they get new stuff on tues and friday.

I live at bobs store. I got two fish from milford petco both died of ick within three days. The second one I got was still in the bag from there supplier.
