Swimming in the School
Anybody ever kept this fish? I recently put one in my 180 gallon fish only after a lengthy quarantine, and he's an amazing fish! So much brighter than the pictures online, instantly started going for food, the tusks look awesome, and he doesn't bother any of the fish. He did already start eating the hermit crabs that have managed to survive the bird wrasse and the lunare wrasse though.

Not much info about them at all online. My lfs got him in as a Jordan's tuskfish and was asking $50 for him. He's about 4 inches and just gorgeous.

That's an awesome fish. I had one for a while and it seemed to be one of the best fish, always out strong, beautiful. I wouldn't hesitate to get another, although I now have a tusk and triple tail in the tanks, so I am not sure they would co-exist. I lost mine during a brook outbreak, and I really regret losing it.

Mine gets on fine with a lunare wrasse and a bird wrasse, and I even plan on adding a hogfish of some kind (probably a coral hogfish) as well as a red coris wrasse.

Great fish! Love his hunting behavior and intelligence. You will need to make sure all rock work and coral is either too large for him to move or secure. His strength will surprise you as he is capable of moving pretty large pieces. For long term care you will need a larger tank in my opinion.

I got a somewhat decent shot of mine with my phone. It's so hard to photograph this guy and the cheap shop lights on the tank certainly don't help.
