Choosing an anemone to pair with a clown

Hey all. I am looking for an anemone which will pair well with a clownfish. What type of anemone have you all had success with? I am a fan of the BT but I'm not familiar with how well they pair with clowns.

Thanks everyone.

What type of clownfish?

I have had success with the following

Haddonis -- Clarkiis, pink skunks, and saddle backs.

LTAs -- pink skunks, ocellaris

BTAs -- pink skunks, true percs, saddle backs, and clarkii

What type of clownfish are you getting?

BTA's are very easy to take care of & alot of clowns will take to them. All of my captive bred true percs have dove right into a BTA (I have captive bred percs from 3 different breeders)

The only thing you should be careful with is if you get onyx true percs & a BTA, certian BTA's have been known to fade the black color on the fish. So just watch the fish for fading & separate them if you see it starting.

So would you say the better pair is occelaris and BTA? Do anyone else agree/disagree.

Thanks everyone for helping me as I'm still in the learning process.

No, personally I prefer true percs. I'm just saying IF your paying extra for a clown with alot of black be forwarned that a BTA "could" cause the black to fade.

If your getting wild caught clowns its a 50/50 chance they will host a BTA or anything... some just dont host ever in our home tanks.

Black & white occelaris tend to be more stuborn about hosting & take a long time also & these are captive bred.
Other captive bred clowns I've personally had experience with have all dove right into anything they could host. its just the black & whites that seem to be stuborn.

Good luck with whatever clowns & host you decide on :)

lets see for me haddonis have always been easy.

haddoni-maroon, ocellaris, pink skunks, chyropterus, clarkii, saddle backs, and sebeas(true sebeas)

havent tried melanopus or tomatoes but im sure theyd take to a haddoni as well.

Just got a rbta couple hours ago, I have 2 clowns. A gsm and true perc, both caught in wild. The perc is more agressive when I feed them but otherwise they get along. As soon as I place the rbta in the tank, the moroon clown doved right in. It surprised me as I thought the perc would host it first. Anyways atleast 1 of them host as it was reason why I bought it.
