Christygirl's new Leemar 180 build!

Jeffrey,

Age has been getting a lot of nice new wrasses... They have a Hawaii Flame, A linneatus, and a pink margin right now... Some really cool ones.

So I got the Red Velvet Fairy wrasse....

It was world war 3 in the tank.... Thesolar fairy wrasse, a sweet heart, all of the time, went nuts.....

I turned out the lights and everyone immediately calmed down.

Next day, more aggression....

So, I bought the Seaside aquatics large acclimation box.....

The solar Fairy is in time out for his 3rd day now..... He still eats good and is only half heartedly charging the side of the glass when the red velvet comes near....

Charlie, the solar fairy wrasse, (My wife names all of the fish) looks sad, but, hopefully he will learn to leave REDRUM alone!

I really want this to work, but, if it doesn't, I have a choice to make.... Red Velvet or Solar.....

I DON'T WANT TO MAKE THAT CHOICE!!!!!

You have two very aggressive wrasses on your hands there. Once the velvet gets set in she/he will most likely become very aggressive like the solar wrasse. Both great looking fish but pack a punch when it comes to attitude. You might have no choice when it comes to pulling one out because those two might end up killing one another. Are you done with wrasses after this purchase??

Bryan,

It looks as if this is true... I may have to take the red velvet back....

I like it tons, but, I really like my solar.... and he was there first.

So, if I have to choose, I think the red velvet will have to go.... I have a beautiful Tonozaki wrasse so it will have to count as the red one....

I let the 2 out yesterday and they started fighting as soon as the food was gone.... So, now the red velvet is in time out and in the box.

As for your question: I was done if this worked... if it doesn't then, I will try a leopard and a pygmy....

So, so clean.

Thanks!

I like your quotes at the bottom.... so far, I have only tested Calcium Alk and Mag once on this tank....

I check salinity every water change.....

I have a pH probe and temp probe....

So, those 3 are the only numbers I really chase....

Now, when I bring my doser online, I will check weekly the Ca, Alk, and Mg.

The leopard might work because it'll be able to hide in the sand. Only thing with them is eating and finding them healthy. I got mine to start on the roe and mysis.

Yeah I have heard that.... I really do like the leopard wrasses and Chaoti for that matter..... But, I know that they are hard to entice...

Getting them eating is pretty easy. It is finding a healthy one. They have a tendency of up and dying with no physical signs of distress of poor health. I had a potters leopard that ate everything, including pellets, and then one day after having it for 6 months it was dead.

That being said, they are wonderful fish. I have found that Ornate Leopards tend be the hardiest of the ones we have available in the hobby.

SoCalDude, which is your favorite? the chaoti or the potters?

beautiful tank!

DLB91, Thanks... It is getting closer all the time.

I may be weird, but I like the potters over the chaoti. Under the blues, the orange on the potters is insain. The blue spots look really cool in contrast to the orange. Not to mention if it dies, you are only out $50 instead of $150 :)

So Cal,

That is sage advice.... Sometimes the more expensive fish aren't even as nice...

Right now, my most favorite fish in the tank is my Solar wrasse.... $30.00

Ya, I have one of those. Definitely one of my favs. I also have a yellow eye kole tang. Only $30 and it has a nice dark purple with a bright yellow eye, and character to spare!

When I get a larger tank I will likely venture into the moderately priced wrasse region though. There are some really nice fairy wrasses out there!

Are you talking about ORA Rea Sea Mimic blenny? Such a cool fish!

Cali, Yes... It is a light blue for the front half and then turns to a light yellow for the back half... He likes to live in the barnacle cave on my cerameco rock.

So cal,
I know, I havea nice Naoku, a nice, Tonozaki, and a Nice Red Velvet.... But, the Solar is the coolest and most personable of the group....

I also like the Kole Tangs, but, I cant have one because of the Des Jardin.... He is a beast and kind of agressive.... Shocked me when he went after the copperband.

I added some new items to my tank....
First: Apex Fusion.... Love it!
Second: Got a brand new MP40WeS from Ali....

Does anyone know how to set 2 of them up to be controlled by the Apex? I have the WXM module.

I would like some hints as to how to program it into the apex....

Also, Got some cool coral from Japsican, Gumma1, Ocellaris123, Goreef65, and MattLesPaulPlayer.

Thanks guys....

All of the pieces look great!

I think it is probably time to give my beautiful Des Jardin up. He needs more space.

So here is my offer:

He is free to a good home. A good home is one with lot's of swimming space. I have had him for almost 3 years and he was about the size of a fifty cent piece when I got him.

He is now closer to 5" diameter.....

Let me know if you are interested....

Also, I have not put any pics up yet, because, I have not been able to take anything that i like..... I will put some up soon.

Randy how do you think your Sailfin would do in my tank with my 2 yellows and Blue? AND... would there be more swimming room than your tank now or no? Maybe no...
