chromis acting funny w/ white spots, hippo scratching

Hello, I noticed awhile ago that my chromis were acting weird now one had white spots on the dorsal fin and is swimming very erratically it jerks back and forth, also my hippo tang is scratching a lot. Other stock includes a yellow tang, carpenter wrasse, cardinal, spotted mandarin and a pair of clowns all of which are fine (to the eye at least)

water quality has been an issue recently I hate to say it, I have been changing regularly the last month or so but before that was doing it once a month for a few months, nitrate got pretty high but is coming back down water changes and nitrate sponge the hippo

tank is 55 gal ~8 months old

way too small of a tank for either of those tangs, sounds like ick.

Yea probably ick. get the sick fish out and treated. Honestly you should consider selling or getting rid of the two tangs somehow.

thank you, the hippo is about 2" and the yellow 3" max they are pretty small. probably moving in a month and going to relocate into a 75gal at the new place, any good suggested treatments for ick?

75gal still to small for both and for treating ick check the disease section. you'll get alot of good advice in there

copper for ick but in a qt tank not the display. The hippo needs a miniumum of a 180g, a 75 isnt going to cut it either
