chromis being mean to clown? wats going on?

well ive had my chromis and my clown for a good 6 months now and all of a sudden they fight each other all the time. ive noticed my clown has a big bump on his face with a little white string coming off. hes also been picking at this one spot on the rock opposite side of my nem. both eat fine, only new additions where a clown goby, YWG, and took out my starry blenny.

thats odd, normally chromis are the calm damsels.

If Im not mistaken clowns and damsels are closely related. Is the Chromis larger than the clown?

White String? Can you get a picture? Sounds like a parasite of some sort.

i can get a picture but it just looks like a blurry clown. i was also thinking they could be mating but they never swim together and they are almost the same size exactly. they used to be best buds
